An exquisite Victorian ‘Lion’ house, built by renowned Victorian house builder James Nichols around the turn of the century. Through our design, we sought to strengthen the connection between the interior and exterior—dissolving the boundary between the intimacy of the indoor space and the natural beauty of the garden.

The ground floor’s original warren of small rooms was opened up to create a stunning split-level living area spanning over 50 feet. The upper level accommodates the formal living and dining spaces, while the lower level—featuring skylights and sliding doors that open onto the garden—houses the kitchen and informal living area.
